Hi, I have moved now from wordpress.com to self hosted wordpress, I hosted my blog on hostgator, my new address is http://www.ibrahimo.com, please adjust your bookmarks. After sometime this blog on wordpress.com will be deleted and the only way to access it will be through http://www.ibrahimo.com
Well since around a week now I became less active in the blog because I was shocked when I found out that blogs on wordpress.com don’t really have full control, so to advance my blog I have to get my own hosting, and that what I am doing now, it still going to take couple of days to set things up the way i want.
In the mean time i would be happy to get your feedback on which is the best hosting companies for blogs. I am still bouncing between bluehost and lunarpages.

This is simple and straightforward, “Fancy Numbered Tabs” an add-on created by Chris Gaunt, it replaces the close icon in each tab with a number (1-9), then to quickly navigate between the tabs all what you have to do is just press CTRL + (1-9) or ALT + (1-9).
Actually the shortcuts are already available from FireFox, the only thing this add-on really does is that it show the tab number so you can easily know which tab is which.
As you know there is a number of social news/bookmarking websites such as Reddit, Digg, Del.icio.us and StumbleUpon. People share articles, websites, photos, videos and so on. Digg already announced that they will be having a special section only for images but it still didnt happen.
Here comes PICURLS, basically this website pulls all the top photos of the day from Digg, Reddit, del.icio.us, StumbleUpon, Flickr, Simpy, Furl, Boing Boing and Wired. You can also subscribe to the RSS feeds for the pictures from each website or from all of the websites.
But PICURLS still have space for improvement, the 2 main drawbacks that i can see is that there is no community, none of the images has any comments, at least for the past few days, all what i can see is the number “0” beside each image. The second thing is that when you click on the link it sends you to the source not the page of the website such as Digg and Reddit, i am not if this being done out of fear that maybe Digg or Reddit wont allow this to happen.
Anyway, in general this is a very nice website, and one day it could become something if it kept on developing.
While surfing the net I found a challenge created by Autodesk, basically they give you a bunch of photos and you have to decide which is real and which is computer graphics.
At first I thought it would be simple, but I got only 6 out of 10 right, so Its not as easy as you might think, just go and see how many will you get right.
Well to be honest i do not use MS Internet Explorer, yes i dont, i use Opera and Firefox, but my brother does and he always end up having more than one new toolbar in his IE, sometimes even without knowing he installed a new one.
Nowadays every software or website offer a different kind of toolbars, and spammers just love it. And as you know its not easy to uninstall those toolbars even if you try to go to the add/remove programs, so you end up removing them the hard way. Well not anymore, at least for my brother, i found this nice application called “ToolbarCop” easy to use and really helps removing any extension in IE. I really wish they could advance it and make it work for any browser, although other browsers dont really have that much problems like IE.
Well there were signs all over the net that there is a huge bidding war between Microsoft and Google and it seems Miscrosoft just wanted it more than anybody. The speculation was that who ever wins the bidding in the end will buy around 10% of Facebook, but the war ended with Microsoft paying $240 Million for a 1.6% stake in Facebook. Which makes Facebook overall value goes up to 15 freakin BILLION Dollars, $15 Billion, wow, although this year they have made only around $150 Million in revenue.
So what is the deal exactly, well Facebook gets allllot of cash, employ some new employees, expand to other countries and so on, for Microsoft, it will be selling ads that show up on Facebook outside the U.S and share the revenue with Facebook, btw Microsoft already sell ads for Facebook in the U.S.
Who should we congratulate? who is the real winner here ? only time will tell.
Yep… IMAP is available for GMAIL now, although I wont start jumping in joy just yet. It seems that people are having hassles configuring it, so i would wait a bit, plus GMAIL doesnt FULLY supports IMAP, some features are not supported.
IMAP is good for multiple platform users, now you can access your mail from different platforms and keep the changes and see them from any platform….
If you login to your gmail and you cant see the setup for IMAP just try to logoff and login again and it will appear, if not just wait for couple of days.
